I’m a data scientist who has been working with big data, predictive analytics, machine learning and AI for over 25 years. I’m a faculty member at the University of Chicago, the Director of the not-for-profit Open Commons Consortium, and the founder and a partner of Analytic Strategy Partners.
At the University of Chicago, I am the Frederick H. Rawson Distinguished Service Professor in Medicine and Computer Science and the Jim and Karen Frank Director of the Center for Translational Data Science. I have served as the chief research informatics officer of the Biological Sciences Division since 2011. I am also the Co-Chief in the Section of Computational Biomedicine and Biomedical Data Science in the Department of Medicine.
